01. Introduction: Players and Objectives

Board Rummy – Rummy PRO is a popular board game played with 106 numbered tiles and 2–4 players, each with their own personal game board. The goal is to create valid sets of tiles (runs or groups) and place them all on your board, keeping one free tile for the final discard. Unlike Rummy 45 (open version), in this classic variant, you do not place tiles on the table during the game – you build silently on your board and win when you complete a valid arrangement.

It’s a game of patience, observation, and strategy, appreciated for its balance between luck and logic.

How to Join a Game

To join a table, click the “Start” button. You can choose a quick game with random players or create your own using “Create New Table”. If someone gave you a table code, you can enter it in the Start window to join their game directly.

Game Set

A complete game contains 106 tiles:

  • 104 tiles numbered from 1 to 13, in 4 colors (red, yellow, blue, black), two of each.
  • 2 Joker tiles.

Each player gets an individual board to organize their tiles.

Extra Joker

Players can choose to activate an extra Joker (if available in their account), increasing the total to 6 Jokers and 110 tiles. Each player can use this option only once per game.

Objective of Board Rummy

🎯 To create and arrange valid combinations of tiles (runs and groups) on your board to complete a winning setup.

A game is considered “closed” when a player has all tiles in valid combinations and presses the “Close” or “Check Board” button.

Final Goal:

  • ✅ to build combinations efficiently,
  • ✅ to use jokers strategically,
  • ✅ and to close the game before your opponents do.

02. Game Tiles and Distribution

The tiles are shuffled, turned face-down, and grouped in stacks of 7. One tile is turned face-up to become the Trump. The stack matching the value of the Trump is selected and adjusted.

Distribution

  • The first player receives 15 tiles; all other players receive 14.
  • In the online version, distribution is automatic.

Doubles and the Trump

Doubles cannot be exchanged. If a player starts with 3 or more doubles, they can refuse the game. If a player has the Trump tile on their board at the start of the game, they receive 100 points from each player at the table.

03. Board Game Play

The first player starts the game by discarding one tile. On each turn, the player draws one tile and then discards one.

Valid Combinations

  • Run: 3 or more consecutive tiles of the same color. Example: 1–2–3 red.
  • Group (Set): 3–4 tiles with the same number in different colors. Example: 8 red, 8 yellow, 8 blue.

Joker

The Joker replaces any tile. You can increase your score by closing the game with a free Joker as the final tile, or by discarding a Joker during play. Discarding a Joker = "throwing" it. The next player is not allowed to pick up a discarded Joker.

Multiplier

You can create tables with a multiplier. The final score will be multiplied accordingly. For example, if your game score is 500 points and you're playing at a x2 multiplier table, you will win 500 × 2 points from each player.

To close the game, you must have all tiles in valid combinations except one, and press the “Close” or “Check Board” button. It is not mandatory to include at least one run. You can close with only runs or only groups.

If a player closes the board, they receive a fixed score of 250 points from each opponent. If a player closes with a free Joker tile (double game), they receive 500 points from each player.
